KCB Bank Tanzania has officially launched Mapato Sukuk, a Shariah-compliant investment solution designed to expand access to interest-free investment opportunities while supporting sustainable economic development.
Speaking at the launch event held at Serena Hotel Dar es Salaam, Amour Muro, representing the Managing Director, highlighted that Mapato Sukuk marks a significant milestone in transforming how individuals participate in investments. He noted that the success of the previously launched Fursa Sukuk in 2022 demonstrated strong market demand and readiness among Tanzanians for Shariah-compliant investment products.
Mapato Sukuk offers a competitive annual return of 11% over a three-year investment period, with quarterly profit distributions, a minimum investment threshold of TZS 500,000, no withholding tax, and full adherence to Shariah principles. The product is structured to provide a secure, transparent, and ethically grounded investment platform that enables inclusive and sustainable wealth creation.
Through this initiative, KCB Bank Tanzania aims to raise approximately TZS 30 billion in three phases, with funds directed toward projects that deliver both economic and social impact, contributing to national development.
The launch was attended by key stakeholders, including Exaud Julius representing Chief Executive Officer of the Capital Markets and Securities Authority, alongside investors, business leaders, and representatives from the financial sector and media.
